Opt-In Basics 101
The top 10 things you should be doing to to make sure your subscribers read your emails.
1)Have your subscribers double opt-in. Better to have a good small list, than a large crappy one.
2)Text only emails have a better chance of delivery than html
3)Put the name of recipient in each message.
4)Can-spam compliance (full mailing address, removal link, etc.)
5)Spamassasin check
6)Check against commonly blocked words
7)Encourage your opt-ins to whitelist your email address.
8)Ask your opt-ins to use gmail so they get your emails.
9)Brand your name or name of your business so they recognize it if they do check their spam folder.
10)Give them lots of great free stuff so they actually look forward to your emails
