Many people cannot understand why anyone
would sell a website that is making them
money.

There are several reasons why webmasters
sell their sites.

Often selling a website is a way of
liquidating a asset, and getting
a chunk of cash all at once.

Other reasons may include changes in
life that no longer enable a webmaster
to care for his site the way they should.

Life happens, and change is inevitable.

It really doesn’t matter how good your web site or blog is, if you’re not getting traffic or getting a lot of traffic but no-one is buying, then all your work is for nothing. What all site or blog owners want is good targeted traffic and if there is a way of getting that traffic for free then that’s a real bonus.

Well the good news is that there is a way of getting free targeted traffic to your site. And that is by writing articles. Now before you cry “I’, not a writer” I want to assure you that if you can talk to your friends you can write an article. You don’t need to be a Shakespeare or a Tolstoy you just need to follow a few simple rules and you’ll be writing like an expert in no time. And getting all that free target traffic to your site.

First do some keyword research. There are many good keyword search programs around and a lot are free. Once you have found your keywords, you need to know where in your article to place then.

Your title is the most important area. Always ensure that your title contains all of your keywords.
In this instance, the keywords would be free, traffic,target and as you can see they are all used in the title.

Next in the body of your article use the keywords predominantly in the first paragraph then scattered through the rest of the article. Don’t overload your article with keywords as this would be considered ‘keyword stuffing’ and will affect your ranking. Then use them again in your closing paragraph.

Once you have written your article it is then time to submit it to article directories. Do read the rules as not all directories have exactly the same rules. For example, some allow coding whilst others stipulate that all coding be removed. It is a good idea to write your article in a plain text editor. That way you can add coding where applicable.

Do not use links in the body of your article most directories will reject an article with body links. Save the links for your Resource Box, which is the area where you can promote yourself or your product.

Another area to be aware of is the actual content of your article. Make sure that it contains good information, which will be of value to the reader. Articles are not sales pitches and any which appear that way will be quickly rejected by article directories.

Your resource box is your ‘call to action’ so make sure it’s exciting and this is where you can sell your product. Ensure that it flows on from the body of your article. For example, a resource box for this article may read something like this “want to know more about how to gain free targeted traffic to your site then click here”. Make it a strong call to action, don’t be shy.

It really doesn’t take much effort to write articles and it really is the most effective way to gain free targeted traffic to your site. Just relax, have fun and let the words flow as if you are telling a friend all about your new exciting web site or blog.

Focus on Your Goals To Avoid Distractions

We all have goals, things which we would like to achieve in our lives. But how many of us actually focus on those goals. Sure we may start of with good intentions but somewhere along the line we lose focus. The result goes without saying, we do not achieve our goals.

Do you find that you start with good intentions then lose focus? Do you find that its not the big things which distract us but the little things? If you have answered yes to either or both of these questions you are not alone. For many people it is the small things which take them off track from achieving their goals. For example, the weather, it’s too cold or it’s too hot today, or it maybe your team is playing in the finals. No matter what, these little detractions all add up and before you know it your interest is low and it’s hard to get back on track again.

There are ways though to stop this happening. It’s not hard but it does require a little effort on your part.

First make what you want to achieve so strongly embedded in your mind that the moment you find yourself distracted for whatever reason, you just need to remind yourself of what it is you wish to manifest. Without a strong motivation in the first place, the chances of your losing interest is very high.

Secondly, focus each day on doing just one or two things towards achieving your goal. Set your mind totally on these areas. By doing this you will be directing your energy towards your goal. Thoughts are energy and if you focus them totally on your goal, all that energy directed towards solely towards your goal. By doing this you will find that it is much easier to keep working towards achieving your goal and not allow outside distraction deter you.

Thirdly, write your goal down and read it each day. Make it an Affirmation. Again focus all your energy into your Affirmation, put feeling in to it and really live your goal on a daily basis.

Every thought carries energy, whether that energy is good or bad depends of course on the actual thought. By focusing on your goal, the end outcome of what you wish to manifest in your life, all that energy, plus the power of the Universe is working to help you achieve your dream.

Focus is power and by harnessing this power to realize your dreams, you will find that those little distractions will fade away but your dreams will manifest themselves very quickly.

2008 is almost over and a new year is almost here. This time of the year I reflect on the year I had and what kind of year the next one will be.

Get Your Website On Page One Of Google

If you want the search engines to send you traffic you really need to be on the first page of the search results. I mean how many people actually look at the results after page one? Some will, but the amount of traffic you will get from being on page 2 will be fairly dismal compared to being on page one. You don’t have to be the very first website in the search results but you should definitly aim to get on that first page.

The keyword that you most want to rate high in the search engines for should be on your main page. Your other keywords/phrases should be on other pages. Each keyword should have its own page. Write your content around your keyword, but keep it people friendly. The search engines give more importance to the words at the top of the site. Put your keyword in your title, your first sentence, and throughout your copy. Don’t go keyword crazy, instead use variations of your keyword or plurals. It is also helps to bold your keyword, put them in quotes, or put them in italics.

On Page Optimization

Optimize your site by getting your title tag and meta tag in order.

The difference between the title tag and the meta tag can be longer, a couple sentences or a pharagraph in length. The meta tag is used to give the search engine robots a summary of what a webpage is about. Sometimes, but not always search engines will use the description in the meta tags to describe a webpage. This does not happen all the time because they might just use a section of text on a webpage instead, if it happens to be relevant to a search query. Also google may use the text in the meta tag as a description of your website in the “open directory project”

Beat Your Competitors

Install the google toolbar with the website page rank checker. Type in your keyword. The sites that come up in the search results are the sites you will have to out-do in order to rank for your chosen keyword. To beat your competitors you will need to have more quality backlinks than they do. To get a idea of how many backlinks a site has click on the pagerank tools backlink button on the drop-down menu. You won’t see every single backlink a site has just ones that come from sites with a page rank of three or higher. This will give you a pretty good idea of what you need to do to out-rank those sites.

Get Backlinks To Your Website

Having alot of backlinks from high PR web-sites is the most important part of SEO. There are many ways to get those valuable backlinks. Backlink building can be a time consuming process so you really want to leverage your time and get as many back links as you can quickly and easily. Press releases are a excellent backlinking strategy as well as forum markeing (my favorite), and article marketing. Comment on blogs does not seem to work as well as it used to, due to the fact that your link may not be followed by the search engines. People can still click on the link, but it won’t pass any link juice onto your site.
